Kids' Yoga

At 5678 Dance, we know that practicing yoga is an excellent way for children to build strength, improve concentration, and reduce stress in a fun and positive way. Yoga promotes self-regulation, motor control, and sequencing skills through a variety of movement and breathing exercises. Turning one's attention inward encourages children to learn how to be more relaxed in stressful situations, as well as providing a break from sensory overload. Over the course of the program, children will participate in games, singing, yoga postures, and guided meditations. Providing children with a balance of energizing movements along with chance to quiet the mind will leave students feeling rejuvenated and focused. Yoga attire is totally optional. Classes are designed to accommodate a “come-as-you-are” group, though loose-fitting or athletic attire is best. Students may bring a yoga mat to class, although it is not required. Each 5-6-7-8 Dance session ends with a presentation to family and friends giving students a chance to present the different things they have learned during the session. All students will receive a Certificate of Participation.
